Anthony Baggett

Tony Baggett is responsible for managing the financial due diligence on investment opportunities.
He has worked with Maguey Management since its formation in 1997. An associate of William Borlaug for more than twenty years, he has financial and operating experience in a number of companies. Since 1983, Tony has been Chief Financial Officer of Mandarin Oil & Gas, responsible for the company's accounting, financial planning, and revenue allocation. He has also worked on financial planning, company evaluation, establishment of financial control systems, and divestiture negotiations related to the North American investment activities of clients, including ChinaVest of Hong Kong and Janivo of Holland.
From 1975 to 1980, he was responsible for the accounting and financial management of Sawmill Restaurants of America. From 1980-1983, he was Chief Financial Officer of Dallas Pacific Energy, with responsibility for financial activities, auditing systems and negotiations with lending institutions.
After graduation from East Texas State University, Tony worked as a financial analyst at the First National Bank in Dallas (1971-1974). He completed bank training programs in accounting and financial analysis, and worked for three years in the credit department analyzing financial statements in preparation for loans. His duties included due diligence work on new customers of the bank, with particular responsibility for analyzing smaller companies in conjunction with SBA loans. Subsequently, he worked in the international department of the bank evaluating loan opportunities and handling communications between headquarters and overseas offices.
